I'd love to be friended so I can continue reading your journal. I first came across you while reading comments on frayach's HD pic rec post called "A Hand Grasped. At Last." (concerning lillithium's fiendfire pic). Your post touched me so profoundly that I just had to follow the link and read more of your thoughts. Because I didn't step in this particular fandom over a love of slash, or a love of Draco, or romantic notions of pairing of light and dark. I entered it because I grew to love Harry's character very deeply over the course of 7 books and his ending up with a two dimensional/undeveloped/completely incompatible character of Ginny was casting a thick dark cloud over my enjoyment of books. And upon reading my first accidental H/D it struck me how unbelievably perfect these two are for each other on every conceivable level. And it's a bit sad that JKR fails to spot that at all in her blind want to give Harry a trophy girlfriend that comes with ginger hair and packed-in huge family and a ton of superlative adjectives but no real unique personality. I think Harry deserves more that family and beutiful wife. He bloody well deserves fireworks and passion and understanding and full acceptance of everything he is, and an equal and I believe no other character comes any closer to it than Draco. It's a shame it's so hard for her and many of us to look past the label of gender to see that the only perfect fit for Harry in HP universe is non other than Draco.
