I thought it best to gtfo LJ. I can handle a lot of things and put up with a lot of inconvenience, but glorifying and subjecting me to laws that oppress gay people is a line I am not willing to cross.

I'd love to be friended so I can continue reading your journal. I first came across you while reading comments on frayach's HD pic rec post called "A Hand Grasped. At Last." (concerning lillithium's fiendfire pic). Your post touched me so profoundly that I just had to follow the link and read more of your thoughts.
Because I didn't step in this particular fandom over a love of slash, or a love of Draco, or romantic notions of pairing of light and dark. I entered it because I grew to love Harry's character very deeply over the course of 7 books and his ending up with a two dimensional/undeveloped/completely incompatible character of Ginny was casting a thick dark cloud over my enjoyment of books. And upon reading my first accidental H/D it struck me how unbelievably perfect these two are for each other on every conceivable level. And it's a bit sad that JKR fails to spot that at all in her blind want to give Harry a trophy girlfriend that comes with ginger hair and packed-in huge family and a ton of superlative adjectives but no real unique personality. I think Harry deserves more that family and beutiful wife. He bloody well deserves fireworks and passion and understanding and full acceptance of everything he is, and an equal and I believe no other character comes any closer to it than Draco. It's a shame it's so hard for her and many of us to look past the label of gender to see that the only perfect fit for Harry in HP universe is non other than Draco.
Sorry for the onslaught of offtopicness, your post there gave me a lot of thinking :") (and I very much admire what you wrote of a true nature of being a woman in mpreg post). I'm looking forward to reading your fics and entries.

second of all, this was so interesting! i can see you gave a lot of thought to this, and i've enjoyed reading through your post up there more than once now.

and, which mpreg post? the one i called "soapbox," perhaps? i'm confused. (easy to do, sadly. ;)

That would be the one called "this? oh, this would be a rant" about how little various outward factors determine one's gender. Beautiful post that :)

Oh yes, I tend to overthink things a bit when it comes to explaining myself to myself ;) Not to mention that my emotional mess tends to come up all jumbled up and full of typos.
