I had read about them before
Date: 2008-06-17 07:41 pm (UTC)It's funny, when I was reading the SFgate article, the only thing that bothered me was the line when they announced all the couples as "spouses for life". I thought, "Hey! They get the same option of getting a divorce just like the rest of us!"

Date: 2008-06-18 04:02 am (UTC)Martin and Lyon are. Their book was the first one I ever read about the EXISTENCE of same-sex relationships. I think I may have been 16 at the time, and I can't remember where I got it -- just that it was terribly battered by the time I did. Probably at a (Unitarian) Church rummage sale... They have spent a lifetime as heroes -- pretty much started the Domestic Violence movement as well. Hoist a glass!
my glass is high!
